On September 30, 2021, Academician Horst Vogel, Chief Scientist of the Computer Aided Drug Design Center, was invited to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing to receive the "Chinese Government Friendship Award".
Premier, Keqiang Li, of the State Council met with the 2020 and 2021 Chinese Government Friendship Award-winning foreign experts in the Great Hall of the People. Vice Premier, Zheng Han and He Liu, of the State Council, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Yi Wang attended the meeting.

We will continue to deepen international cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, more actively integrate into the global innovation network, promote international comunication and cooperation in technology, talents, and projects, and support scientists from all over the world to conduct research that around common global challenges.
After the meeting, Academician Horst Vogel, together with other foreign experts present, attended the reception celebrating the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China at the invitation of Keqiang Li.

The Chinese Government Friendship Award is the highest award established by the Chinese government to commend foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to China's modernization and reform and opening up. It was officially established in 1991 by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs authorized by the State Council.
【About Professor Horst Vogel】
Prof. Horst Vogel is member of the Swiss Academy of Sciences as well as the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) USA. He is also an "Outstanding International Scholar" of "President's International Fellowship Initiative, Chinese Academy of Sciences"(2019 elected) as well as an emeritus professor of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). In addition, He was also the director for Institute of Physical Chemistry, “Institute of Biomolecular Sciences” and a “Member of the Research Commission” at EPFL, which bridges activities from biophysics, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology to micro- and nanotechnologies.
